Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Your provider will review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, current medications, and treatment goals. Medication or additional referrals may be recommended when appropriate.
Complete all required patient-portal forms before your visit. It is also helpful to have your medication list, relevant medical or psychiatric records, insurance information, and any questions or concerns you want to discuss with your provider.
We provide comprehensive psychiatric care focused on evaluation, medication management, individualized treatment planning, lifestyle support, and ongoing monitoring to help patients improve their mental health and daily functioning.
We care for adults and adolescents with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and other mood or psychiatric conditions.
Our primary focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Brief supportive psychotherapy may be incorporated into visits, and we can recommend or coordinate with outside therapists when more extensive therapy would be helpful.
Yes. Our psychiatric providers can prescribe medications when clinically appropriate. Treatment decisions are based on your symptoms, history, current medications, health needs, and individual goals.
Medication is one treatment option and is not right for everyone. Your provider will consider how long symptoms have been present, how much they affect daily life, previous treatment, medical history, and the potential benefits and risks before making a recommendation with you.
We work with most major insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare plans. Coverage can vary by provider and plan, so please text us at 517-615-1527 or email admin@thebrainbliss.com if you would like us to verify your insurance before scheduling.
Yes. We offer both telehealth and in-person appointments depending on provider availability, clinical needs, and insurance requirements. Telehealth visits use secure video so you can meet with your provider from home.
We are located at 1410 Turner Rd., Lansing, MI 48906, in Old Town. Our office is on the second floor of the Matthew Ryan Salon Building. Parking is available in our lot, on the street, and in the lot across from the building.
Follow-ups are usually more frequent when treatment is new or medications are changing. As symptoms become stable, visits may be spaced farther apart. Certain medications, including controlled substances, may require more frequent follow-up.
Follow-up visits are used to review progress, symptoms, medication response, side effects, and any changes since your last appointment. Your provider can adjust the treatment plan as needed and recommend when your next visit should occur.
Please review refill needs with your provider during appointments whenever possible. If you need a refill between visits, contact your provider or our office. Some medications require a current follow-up appointment before a refill can be issued.
Contact our office if you develop medication side effects or have concerns about a new symptom. Your provider can review what you are experiencing and determine whether your treatment plan needs to be adjusted. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change an appointment. Established patients may also use the patient portal. Our current cancellation policy requires at least 48 hours’ notice; late cancellations or missed visits may result in a $100 fee when applicable.
Established patients may contact their provider by email for non-urgent questions. Messages are not monitored as an emergency service. If you are experiencing an emergency or believe you may be in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
We follow HIPAA privacy requirements and take patient confidentiality seriously. Your health information is handled through secure systems and is only shared as permitted or required by law.
